It's imperative for the Mad Droids model to not only be safe and secure, scalable, feasible, but also easy to use and simple to onboard new, inexperienced users. As mentioned in the Introduction, the vision for Mad Droids is to help leverage this technology for global adoption to improve the quality of life for everyone. For these reasons, Mad Droids has carefully selected and utilizes the Ethereum ecosystem for the deployment of the Developer NFTs and the fungible tokens and other in-game items (NFTs) will be deployed on the Polygon Network.
- Safe & Secure
- Scalable & Sustainable
- Simple & Easy to Use
Polygon Network (previously Matic Network) is an EVM-compatible ecosystem, which makes it easy to develop and integrate on both blockchains. This makes it not only simple for developers to create and deploy, but also for users to easily swap between networks with no hassle. Polygon, sometimes referred to as MATIC (native token), has increased usage and adoption for all different types of apps, platforms, and games due to the nature of its fast transactions and cheap fees.
Polygon Network currently has over 19,000 dApps that have chosen to build on this blockchain. Polygon is designed to support all different types of projects that includes DeFi, Gaming, Social, Exchanges, Art, and more. Many popular platforms and metaverses also have integrated with Polygon like OpenSea, UniSwap, The Sandbox, and Decentraland. Other top, well-known projects that have built on Polygon include Aavegotchi, Kyber Network, QuickSwap, Pegaxy, along with many others.
The Polygon community and Polygon Studios have been actively supporting the emergence of gaming projects in the Polygon ecosystem, also providing grants and on-boarding support. For all of these reasons, Mad Droids decided that the Polygon ecosystem was a perfect fit.
Ethereum is most well-known for the being the first Layer 1 blockchain protocol to allow for decentralized apps (dApps) to be deployed with its own native scripting language, known as Solidity. Thanks to this pioneering technology, it attracted international attention and interest, which led to it having the most active developers contributing to its growth since its creation. Since Ethereum was the first of its kind, many other blockchains have forked and cloned this technology for its robustness and active open-source contributions. Due to its age, network integrity, and international community of developers, Ethereum has been integrated in countless websites, applications, platforms, games, and ecosystems—making its adoption spread like wildfire. Ethereum's native token (ETH) also ranks number 2 for total marketcap (right below Bitcoin), providing the Ethereum ecosystem and its users with access to an abundance of resources and value.
